As our last meeting before a two week break (Aurora is off to the mainland), we went to I love yogurt to cool down from the summer heat. The yogurt was delicious and it was a great way to relax! We also played "salad bowl" with English and Japanese Onomatopoeia. Everyone wrote down 5 onomatopoeia in English or Japanese on separate sheets of small paper, folded it up, and put it in a yogurt cup. Then we had Americans and Japanese people pair up in teams. During one turn, a team would randomly take one piece of paper from the cup, open it, and try to get the rest of the group to guess what the onomatopoeia word was. Americans used Japanese and Japanese members used English to explain it. Once it was guessed correctly, they could pick another sheet of paper and do the same thing until 2 minutes was up. The aim was to collect as many sheets of paper as possible (of course while learning some new words!). I think we all learned some interesting onomatopoeia and even tried re-enacting some of them for the camera. See the pictures gallery for more! The password is still "skydiving."
